Props in our film

Due to our film being a found footage horror film, our props are pretty limited and that we have no need for many props in our trailer. The main props we will be using in our trailer will be torches, camera's, bags, etc.

We have 2 camera's that we will be using, one for Dan and one for me. Most of the shots would be "point of view" shots which will make the audience think that their in the front row seat or think that they're personally holding the camera, dragging them into the film and making them on the edge of their seats. Dan and I will be filming each other and the surroundings, this is why we need two camera's.

We will also be using torches due to the fact we will be filming at night, so the use of torches would be good to capture parts of our trailer at night, giving it a more scarier effect for the audience.

Costumes - Denzel and Jack

The type of costumes we choose for these characters are quite similar to each other and very important because it can help the audience to get to know the characters, for example their class, where they live, age or even gender. The choice of costume we have picked I think represents our characters and the conventions that go with them. Denzel would wear a coat, with dark grey sweatpants and Jack would wear black jeans with a jumper

Our Camera - Sony HDR-HC3 High Definition Camcorder

This is the camera that we are using to film our opening two minutes with. It's my personal camera that I use. It films in full HD, which should make it look pretty good, and this was the main appeal for this camera. It also has a microphone slot, so we don't have to rely on the internal microphone. The zoom is also good, and so we can get some shots from far away and it would still be very good quality. The camera contains:

More than Human - Poster

Here is the finished product of my found footage horror movie poster.  This poster was created on Photoshop, and was a bit of a challenge for me because I personally have never used Photoshop before in my life, so this was a fun piece of work to create and it was very enjoyable as well as stressful.

I have kept to the old conventions of horror movies by using the colours, Red, Black and White as i felt like they were the most effective colours and that they are more eye catching that the recent trends of horror movie posters, as it gives it a more older look as the reds, blacks and white colours were used in the 80's for a more scarier feel on the audience. As the colour black represents darkness (as many people are afraid of the dark) and represents fear and it also contrasts with the Red writing used as Red is used to conform blood and it stands out on the black background.

The caption "If on thoughts of deaths we are fed. Thus, a coffin, became my bed" is a slogan used to make the film look more frightening and appeal more to the audience as it is used in capitals and in larger writing to try and capture the eye of the audience.

The Title "More Than Human" is used in large, capital writing and in the colours of Red and White. The use of the Red writing here is to stand out against the black background and the white writing, with the word "Than" in a larger font compared to the other words and makes the whole title stand out in the poster and draws the viewer into the poster and making them examine it too.

The faded black and white grave is used to stand out too in the poster, with the writing on the grave being in bold to eye catch the audience. The grave is also used to conform death, supernatural and paranormal activity, linking it with ghosts, zombies etc.

Time Management

Here below, I have a schedule on Dan and I's time management and the products and posts that are upcoming.

Research and Planning Targets

Spend a little bit of time revisiting some posts and adding some theoretical points using specialist terminology. Is there any more detail you can mention to explore genre, representation, mise-en-scene, camera composition and editing. You need to share your schedules and plans for filming and then make them happen. This evidencing of time management is important if you want to achieve more than 16 marks out of 20.

More than Human - Outro/Credits

Here is the finished video for our outro for the trailer. This was created on Sony Vegas 11, with the help of some YouTube tutorials on how to create these effects.

At the start we have warned the audience to ‘Be prepared for the horror within’ so they would think that there is still a lot to come after the trailer. That saying really makes it seem as if it’s a horror film and it is very scary.

After that we have included the date the film would be out, and social networking trends so # sign on twitter e.g. #morethanhumanmovie so the audience would mention our film and word of mouth would get around and market our film for more viewers. As well as telling them to like us on Facebook so we can keep them updated with any quests and games we will launch to market the film using any sort of campaigns.

The last bit of the outro includes everyone who was part of the film e.g. the directors, actors, productions companies etc. as they need to get credit for their work.

We have added sound to this, to make it more dramatic and to have more effect on the audience, although I think the pinnacle point of the outro is the screen shutting off at the end of the trailer as if its the end.
